Things about trying to go to sleep in the country:
My grandma lives legit in the country. In a town of like 300 people* in the Laurentians in Quebec. It is beautiful, there are mountains everywhere, the houses are adorable, everything is quaint, and it is, more than anywhere else, my home (in that she has lived here since I was born and it’s the one constant). Also people are super nice here and I forget how many of them are adorable old people who are completely bilingual and crazy intelligent and fun to talk to.
BUT the country is SO QUIET. And she has a stable behind her house and a pond filled with bullfrogs in front of it so there are always things creaking and I grew up in the suburbs so nowhere is safe and I get scared.
*I just went to the actual website and everything I just said is a lie. When I said 300 I actually meant 10,000 but it is debatable how many live within the actual town rather than the surrounding areas which are sometimes included. It’s doubled in size in the last 15 years. Also it is 90% french and only 5% english (it is weird that my family is one of like only 20 other english families.)
You’re not in Tremblant, are you?
